IQVIA Senior SQL Database Developer in Mexico City, Mexico
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Senior SQL Database Developer is primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of the data-driven solutions including Investigator Grant Payment Forecasting and Reporting systems. Primary duties include understanding the underlying business processes and data for Clinical Trial Payments (CTP) Forecasting application, enhancing the current version, and developing the future versions.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for all technical aspects of data platform for the CTP Forecasting solution, including design, development, and maintenance.
Implement enhancements to the CTP Forecasting solution’s database platform and data ingestion processes based on the product roadmap and prioritized requirements, including integration with other IQVIA applications, etc.
Enhance existing and build new data models and data ingestion processes.
Oversee data ingestion of the forecasting studies in SQL Server environments.
Identify and improve data ingestions optimization, troubleshoot, and mitigate code defects.
Assist the Business Analysts and Data Architects with development effort estimates.
Mentor less-experienced developers to use best practices through design/code walk-throughs.
Develop technical specifications based on provided business requirements.
Maintain revisions to systems technical documentation inventory.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or any IT related field
4-7 years of in-depth experience in an SQL Server development environment
In-depth understanding of SQL Server database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) methodologies
Working experience in the data warehouse design, development, and large data processing on SQL Server platform
In-depth strong expertise in T-SQL development (i.e. stored procedures, query optimization using execution plan, use of temporal audit tables) in SSMS tool
Good knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) development
Working experience designing relational and dimensional database models
Experience in the pharmaceutical clinical trial, financial, or IT development roles/industries
Knowledge of clinical trial process, ideally with specific knowledge on investigator contracts and essential site documents is a plus
Experience in financial forecast and accrual analysis is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative in a collaborative environment
Strong problem-solving, analytical skills and attention to detail
Possess positive attitude and ability to work in agile team environment
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel skills
